Cute Party Idea

Ingredients:
Cookies
1 1/2 cup confectioners sugar (powdered sugar)
1 cup butter (salted)
1 egg
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
2 1/2 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cream of tarter
Red Food coloring
1 cup mini semi sweet chocolate chips

Glaze
Green Food coloring
2-3 tablespoons of milk
1 1/2 cups of confectioners sugar

Directions
Cookies:
Leave butter out to soften. Mix sugar and butter until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla. Mix thoroughly. Mix in flour and other dry ingredients. Then add about 4-6 drops of red food coloring (the dough should appear pink in color). Once mixed, place the dough on wax paper and refrigerate 2-3 hours. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Divide dough in half and roll out with a rolling pin. (when rolling, you can place the dough on a cutting board, but dust it with flour so the dough does not stick). Roll the cookies to 1/4" thick. Cut out circles with a cookie cutter or a glass cup if you don't have a circle cookie cutter. Then use a knife to cut the circles in half. Place the halves on the baking sheet, about 1" apart. Gently press mini semi sweet chocolate chips into each semi circle.

Bake for 7-8 minutes or until golden. Let the cookies cool on the sheet for 5 minutes then place them on wire cooling racks. Continue rolling the dough and making the half circles until all your dough is gone.

Glaze:
Mix together all the ingredients in a bowl. If the mixture is too thin, add more sugar. If it is too thick, add more milk.

Place wax paper or news paper under the cooling racks that hold the cookies. This will make sure that the extra glaze drips will not dye your counter or make a mess. To decorate the cookies, roll the round edge of the cookie in the glaze. Hold the cookie over the bowl to let the excess glaze drip in the bowl, then place the cookie back onto the cooling racks so the glaze may dry. Repeat this on all the cookies. Once the glaze dries, then wow your friends with your creative and fun cookies!!
