Hiatus

Dear Blog Followers,

Due to a busy period in my life, I will start new blog posts on November 1st. Thank you for your patience! I have some really great ideas planned so you are definitely going to want to check back. I actually just worked 9 days for Keith Watson Productions on their huge event Noche de Gala. So stay tuned for pictures and stories from the Gala.

Love,

Flippy Floppys

This is one of the most wonderful ideas I have seen that will really take care of your guests. At every homecoming dance and prom that I have been to, the girls bathroom or underneath the tables are filled with high heels! These can serve as your guest favors! They will leave with happy feet!

Rehearsal Documents

One of the best things I learned from my internship at MasterPiece Weddings was how to write a wedding rehearsal form and then how to run a rehearsal. No one wants to be at the rehearsal for more than 45 minutes, so you need to be organized. This is where a wedding planner comes in extremely handy!! If you can't afford one, here is a format of a document you can make for yourself. This is the way your bridal party will walk in and out... depending on how you want your bridal party to walk in, this form will change.

Table Setting Etiquette

Here is a cheat sheet to show you how a formal and casual table should be set. Typically, your venue, caterer, or event designers should be setting your tables, but in case you have an unusual venue like I will for my wedding, you might have to set your own tables. Additionally, learning these table settings will impress those who come over for dinner parties!

Notes: The Service Plate is also known as a Charger. Also, The napkin placement will change with how you want your napkins folded.

Fall Wedding Favor

One of my friends is getting married on the 21st of this month! She has been pretty much making everything for her wedding herself. She just posted this picture on facebook of some of her guest party favors. These are a easy and great idea for a fall wedding! The first picture is her own picture and the others are ones I found online. You can always get your girl friends together for an apple dipping party so you can get them done faster!

Ken and Barbie

I ran across this hilarious photo shoot on Rock n Roll Bride's blog! The quality of these pictures is amazing. The person who took these shots must have stared at wedding photos a lot, because the poses are like ones that I see in Wedding Albums every day! Enjoy.

Make Your Own Pizza

While brainstorming ideas to finish up reception week, I was thinking of ways to keep children entertained during the dinner hour of an event. If you have enough in your budget for this, talk to a caterer and find out if it's an option to have all the kids gather in one room with a baby sitter and members of the catering staff to have the kids make their own pizzas. It takes care of the food for the kids and it's a fun way to occupy them for an hour or so which their parents eat dinner.

Espresso Bar

With the Starbucks craze hitting around the world, an espresso bar is sure to be a winner at your next event. You can have baristas who are ready to make specialized cappuccinos, lattes, Macchiatos, Mochas etc. Also the bar could include spices and extra flavorings for your guests to mix in with their coffees. Add in some biscotti, and you add a WOW factor to your event.

Wacky Wednesday: Skiing

This week's Wacky Wednesday brings us to frozen tundras. As you all know, couples get together because of similar interests and hobbies. Some couples choose their wedding site based off of these interests or even where they met. From my fiance and I, we are getting married where we first met. Just remember that having an outside wedding in 32 degrees or less is not a thing most guests will like to sit through!

Hairdos with Flowers

Happy Friday everyone! For the last day of hair week, I am going to show you pictures of my personal favorite hair accessory! The flower! I have about 20 different clips of flowers, one of which I wear in my hair on a daily basis. Those flowers are such an easy way to dress up your hair and make it look fancier! I promise you it does.  In addition, my family has plumeria bushes (which grow the flowers that leis in Hawaii are made of) our front, so when I pass by those bushes I grab a real flower for my hair. Check out these beautiful pictures!

Hair Style Week!

Ladies, this week I am going to make it a theme week! Hair week! I have found some beautiful hairstyles online that I want to share with you. Along with each hairstyle, I will be giving you some tips on how to keep your hair looking beautiful for your big day!
Source

I really love this intricate hairstyle. It's really easy for the hair stylist to do and it looks amazing. There are so many pictures of different hairstyles online. One of the best tips I can give you is have a trial appointment before your actual wedding day. This way your hair stylist can get it right and try different things without being on a strict time restriction.
