This page is dedicated to what I have learned so far in my Event career. I am always appreciative when fellow professionals help me out, so I want to give back.
1) Keep the toasts under 4 minutes
2) Have toast givers speak during dinner
3) Contracts, Contracts, Contracts! Make sure you get them for every vendor you have. The contract needs to state what is required of them, the date and time they should be there, and payment.
4) Always make a rain plan.
5) Feed your vendors and plan for a place for them to sit. That doesn't necessarily have to be with the guests.
6) It is customary to tip your vendors. However, it works just like a restaurant, tip according to the service.
7) If your ceremony is outside, make sure you have microphones or lapel mics on your groom and minister so all your guests can hear you.
8) Hire a wedding planner even if just for "day of". We are there to handle all the little or big problems that might occur during the day. You don't want to spend this wonderful day running around handling issues, so let us do it for you!
